Pareja Gamer
Pareja Gamer was built as a companion game for the YouTube channel of the same name, designed to deliver an accessible casual experience with a distinct identity. Players control two characters jumping across platforms and collecting items to chase the highest score possible.
The project was developed by ManRouss (programming) in collaboration with the art and character designer, under the Chuleta Studios label from 2014 to 2017. It shipped on both Google Play Store and App Store.
On the technical side, the game integrates Google Play Games Services for a global leaderboard and an achievement-based medal system. Monetization was handled through Unity Ads rewarded videos — players can optionally watch an ad to unlock cosmetics without spending currency.
The cosmetic system features over 20 hats packed into a sprite atlas, each with its own unlock requirements tied to the game's internal economy: hearts, cupcakes, and lollipops earned during runs. Players can preview any hat on their character in real time before equipping it, with arrow navigation and immediate visual feedback — a small but deliberate UX touch that keeps the selection loop satisfying.
